If it's not already possible I have a small request regarding the
following problem (Linux version)):
When installing new fonts on our system I use the `updmap' script for
including the .map file.
The problem is that when this is done, the updated files in texmf-var is
now only readable for me (I own the installation), but it should be
readable for everyone. I forget to manually change the permissions.
Wouldn't it be better (for TeX Live 8) that the updmap script (or what
ever script causes this) sets the files to be readable for everyone?
